You might think of Airbnb as it was in its original incarnation – did you know the name came from an air-bed on a living room floor? But as the popularity of platforms like Airbnb increases, more and more people are using homesharing sites to let out their other properties – several, if you’re lucky enough to be in that position.
The other reason people use the ‘multiple listing’ option on the Airbnb website is if they have more than one room in their house to let out. Sound like a hassle? It doesn’t have to be. Here are GUARDHOG’s five easy ways to list more than one space in your home.
- Keep it simple
If you have more than one property, or more than one room, it’s vital to keep it simple and create a separate listing for each space you’ve got available to stay in. That way, you know what’s booked and when, and it’s clear for potential guests too.
- Be clear and concise
Each separate room in your house will have its own calendar and listing page. All the details on the page need to accurately reflect the number of beds and the amenities available. Don’t forget to include space that will be shared with other guests, or you and your family.
- Create your listing
When you have all the information ready, visit Airbnb.com and create your listings. First, go to List your space, then follow the instructions.
- Make listings to suit you
Airbnb is tailored to every possible version of homesharing, so you can even create a listing for your whole house as well as separate listings for individual rooms in the house. Our only tip here is – make sure you sync your calendars. In other words, if you rent out your entire house, you’ll need to block those dates on all the individual rooms so you don’t double book.
- An offer they can’t refuse
A great way to attract guests for multiple bookings is to offer them a discounted rate. Send a Special Offer – and don’t forget to block the calendar of the other listings to avoid double-booking. Happy hosting!
